The Full Moon is the energetic peak of the Lunar Cycle and the Full Moon in Scorpio is our second Full Moon (and third lunation) of the astrological year thus far.

Generally speaking, the Full Moon is when our emotions can feel like they’re at their most powerful and uncontrollable, so if things feel heightened now, it’s completely normal! This is even more intensified with the Full Moon in Scorpio, so be aware of this for yourself (and for others too--everyone is affected by this, be meta-mindful)!

In this article, you’ll get the scoop on the astrology of this Full Moon in Scorpio on April 26, 2021, a deep dive into the aspects that impact it, an exploration of the connection between releasing and manifesting with some musings, and then finally you'll get a quick reminder of how to do a Full Moon ritual.

The Full Moon takes place on April 26 at 23:31 EST, on April 27 at 04:31 GMT.

Releasing Possessive Tendencies: The Full Moon in Scorpio

(An excerpt from Cam’s Cosmic Scopes in the 888 Collective Monthly Energy Guide)

The Moon enters Scorpio at 12:19 EST on April 26 and then moves into her exact opposition with the Sun at 23:31 EST, shining her light down to us as the Full Moon in Scorpio. This is the second Full Moon of the astrological year, and it is an excellent time to release any blocks you have in both the realms of finance as well as sensuality

Oppositions in astrology are all about weighing both sides and finding a balance between them, and the Taurus-Scorpio axis is all about the sacred and the profane—culture and occult.

As always with the Full Moon, Cosmos is telling us to RELEASE! Releasing is all about letting go of everything that is no longer useful for us, and in the fixed signs of Taurus and Scorpio, Cosmos wants us to release our fixation with the material world in order to feel more emotionally fulfilled, and thus be able to express emotions more authentically.

There’s a tug-of-war happening between our emotions, which want to dig deep into the darkness, and our Egos (in alignment with our Minds, Values, and Ideals), which feel pretty comfortable here in the easily illuminated realm of the material. When you really think about tugs-of-war, you can see that the point of the game is not necessarily to ‘tug’ one side completely over to another side. Rather, it is to have as much time as possible where the sides are equally matched, creating a tightrope—a bridge—between them.

Where the Full Moon in Libra was all about releasing any built-up relationship tensions, the Full Moon in Scorpio deepens this in a way and is all about releasing the underlying causes of those tensions.

Release jealousy, resentment, and everything related to possession.

The concept of ownership and possession that most of us are socialized into is extremely toxic. Think about your possessions: what is actually yours? We acquire something, use it, then throw it away, and somehow, it is only in the time between acquiring it and throwing it away that we consider it as a “possession.” Hence the enormous waste problem we have in the world. Re-conceptualize this process as a cycle.

Releasing is not accompanied by the myth of “throwing away” because the Moon is inherently cyclical: what we release now will return to us in new manifestations, and then needs to be released once more at the Full Moon in Taurus (during this Scorpio season) and/or at the next Full Moon in Scorpio (in about a year).

Usually, releasing rituals are accompanied by a visualization of whatever it is your releasing literally exiting your body and energetic field. This Scope invites us not to constrain this visualization with modern notions of waste.

You’re releasing something back into the cycle, you’re not simply “throwing it away” and convincing yourself that it is no longer with you.

Aspects to this Full Moon

This Full Moon ignites the FIXED CROSS (a.k.a. the "fixed square").

In case you're not yet caught up on our earlier scoops/lessons, the signs that are in the same modality are 90° away from each other (or 3 signs away), which means they form a square. So, to clarify, there are four signs in each modality. Each of these four signs is 90° away from the other. They make a square in the zodiac wheel, which is why we call the aspect a square.
