New Moon in Aries: April 11, 2021
Note: A much more in-depth version of this article is already up for members of the Guided Learning Community on Patreon, which includes a step-by-step guide to creating the perfect New Moon Wishing Ceremony! Happy first New Moon of the astro year!
The New Moon is the energetic valley of the Lunar Cycle. It is the lowest energetic point, which is why it is time for planting seeds. This New Moon in Aries is the MOST important one for this astrological year (the solar year 2020-2021) because it is the FIRST!
Generally speaking, the New Moon is an exciting time but that excitement comes at a lower frequency. If your energy feels a bit lessened, that's totally normal!
In this article, you’ll get the full scoop on the astrology (and Moonology) of this New Moon in Aries on April 11, 2021, @ 22:30 EST. Want to dive deeper? Check out the article on Patreon, where there is also an explanation of Manifesting with the Moon and several detailed suggestions for how to go about making New Moon Wishes.
The Scoop
Being Emotionally Reborn: The New Moon in Aries
The Moon enters Aries completely dark, and this is extremely symbolic of the seeds that we plant at the New Moon. It’s always darkest before the dawn, as they say. This is the larger metaphor of springtime in general—she always comes after the dark night of winter.
On April 11 at 22:30 EST, we have the New Moon—when the Sun and Moon join together in the sign of Aries. This is the first of the astrological year, and it is the perfect time for making a bold 12-month plan for what you want to achieve over this next year.

Other Cosmic Happenings: Aiding and Abetting our Rebirth
4/10: Mercury Sextile Saturn & Venus Sextile Jupiter
4/11: Mercury Sextile Node, Sun Conjunct Moon (New Moon) & Venus Square Pluto
The New Moon in Aries is extremely supported, but still might feel pretty intense for a lot of us. That’s because the New Moon is the energetic low of the lunar cycle.
As a very basic and oversimplified rule, the less we see the Moon, the less emotional energy we have. And this is enhanced by the aspects happening, even if they are also extremely supportive, like the Venus-Jupiter connection! This is amazing for sorting out what our truest, most genuine New Moon wishes are and getting them down on paper (we’re especially encouraged to do this by Mercury’s involvement).
It’s really important to get yourself to think long-term, but that doesn’t mean your wishes all should be serious! There’s a powerful and playful energy in the air as well!
The scoop is that this New Moon is surrounded by the perfect aspects to begin, or at least recommit to, following your bliss!

Manifesting with the Moon (Preview of Patreon Article)
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
It is scientifically proven that the Lunar Cycle influences the tides of the ocean. It is also scientifically proven that human bodies are up to 60% water. If the Moon is strong enough to have an effect on the largest body of water on Earth, it is certainly strong enough to have an effect on our individual human bodies!
A significant majority of cultures around the world and throughout most of history have aligned to the Lunar Cycle rather than the Solar, this is why the word for “month” is so close to the word “Moon.” Even today, many different calendar systems are based around the Moon.
When we align with the Lunar Cycle, we are aligning with the natural rhythms of the Earth.
As the creator of Moonology, Yasmin Boland, says:
“We’re makers of magic on a journey towards enlightenment. We’re at one with the skies and the heavens and all that lies beyond, and even if we can’t observe the heavens fully, or even give too much time to contemplating nature, connecting with the Moon reconnects us with the Divine – with our Divine selves and with the cosmos.”
Over the past several lunations, you've learned how the Lunar Cycle works astrologically, astronomically, and energetically.
You've learned why certain practices are associated with different Lunar Phases, such as setting intentions with the New Moon and practicing forgiveness and releasing at the Full Moon. And, specifically, you learned all about Gratitude, which can be practiced at any moment but is most necessary at the Full Moon and both Quarter Moons. If you need a refresher, see the graphic above!
Now that you're equipped with all of the information that you need to really start getting aligned to the Lunar Cycle--the most important cycle in transit astrology and a great educational tool for understanding other astrological transit cycles--it's time to start actually practicing living in alignment.
The New Moon in Aries is the perfect time to start! It's time to start using cosmic alignment to actively follow your bliss! You are a conscious agent in your hero's journey now!

How to Make New Moon Wishes: An Exemplary New Moon Ceremony
The creator of Moonology, Yasmin Boland, provides a step-by-step guide to how New Moon wishes work in her book, Moonology, which is the first book on the optional "Reading List" for everyone in the Guided Learning Community. Her suggestions are near perfect, as she has been doing this for decades and has really honed her approach, but I did make a few modifications to make it clearer, more practical, and more inclusive. Below, I've shared these modifications of her suggestions as well as some explanation, but you can see the originals in her "New Moon Wishing Guide."
You can follow the steps below in your New Moon Wishing Ceremony, which can be done either as a personal ritual or you can do it together with a group. Whatever you do, the more energy you put into making your wishes, the more likely your wishes will come true. This is why making a ceremony out of it is so important!

Moonology + Transit Astrology = Perfect Alignment
If you want to take your New Moon wishes even further, you can use transit astrology to inform them as well as to set a more specific stage for each lunation (e.g., if there are big Mars transits happening, you might incorporate a crystal that represents Mars energy for you, such as Carnelian).
If you're a member of the Guided Learning Community and have been keeping up with the Lessons, you are MORE than equipped to do this for yourself and a few close friends at this point!
But, if you want to do this, but don't have the time or feel like you don't have the astrological know-how yet, don't forget that I am now offering a personalized Guide to Manifesting with the Moon as well as Moonology Consultation Video Sessions! And I'm currently having a SUPER SALE for all of these Moonology services!
You can book here on the website: www.thescopescoop.com/shop.
